I am Alex Tamchynová. A nature lover, zoologist, wildlife rescuer, photographer and blogger.

Ever since I can remember, I have been around animals whenever possible, and I have loved books about nature and animals and documentaries on TV.

About Me

My childhood passion turned into a career path. I've got a degree in Wildlife Management in Tropics and Subtropics; I worked and volunteered in zoos, aquariums and wildlife rescue centres.

Thanks to this behind-the-scene experience, I've got a better understanding of the role of modern zoos and aquariums in biodiversity conservation. The public often misinterprets their role thanks to various parks, so-called zoos, aquariums or similar facilities with captive animals.
